Apollo Multispeciality — 12 OT Complex
Super-Specialty Hospital OT Air Engineering Delivery
Medxon Technologies was commissioned as the primary HVAC contractor to construct a comprehensive 12-theatre super-specialty Modular Operation Theatre (MOT) complex. The complex includes dedicated environments for high-stakes cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, and organ transplantation.
The Engineering Challenge
The clinical facility required uninterrupted operational reliability. System parameters had to satisfy extremely tight tolerances: hospital room temperatures maintained at a crisp 20°C (±1°C), absolute relative humidity capped at 50% (±5%), and the air filtration path certified to remove all airborne particulate contaminants before surgical starts.
Medxon's Executed Solution
- Laminar Flow Plenums: Designed and suspended 12 customized stainless steel Laminar Flow ceilings featuring micro-perforated polyester equalizer screens to distribute filtered air downward in a smooth, vertical column.
- Dedicated Air Handling: Installed 12 independent, double-skin outer Air Handling Units (AHUs) fitted with backward-curved plug fans and multi-tiered G4, F9, and terminal H14 HEPA filters.
- Intelligent Controls: Linked the entire complex with custom PLC panels displaying temperature, humidity, and room static pressures (+15 Pa) on easy-to-read electronic wall dashboards.
Project Outcomes
The entire 12 OT surgical wing completed all third-party air balancing and ISO particle validation checks within schedule, earning full NABH clinical certification.
